EDGE is looking to recruit an apprentice Quantity Surveyor its Nottingham office.
EDGE is a property consultancy working across all sectors of the construction industry providing cost management, project management and building surveying.
The successful candidate will be be predicted to achieve or be already qualified with 120 UCAS points to enable enrolment at Nottingham Trent University on a BSc Honours Chartered Quantity Surveying Degree Apprenticeship (Part-time) course.
You will also benefit from being able to apply the knowledge you gain in the workplace to your university study and well as earning a salary while you learn.

The successful candidate will be mentored by senior members of staff whilst being involved in a variety of projects across a number of construction sectors and fully supported throughout their university studies and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Assistance with measurement and preparation of budget estimates and cost plans
- Assistance with analysis of construction cost information and reporting on findings
- Providing support and assistance to senior members of staff
- Assistance with developing and utilising key project documents
- Understanding and maintaining awareness of the different Building Contracts available and the corresponding legislation
- Assistance with day to day project delivery including;
- Site visits
- Valuing works complete and issuing interim valuations
- Cost reporting
- Assessing and agreeing variations
- Assessing and agreeing final accounts
Essential Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- GSCE Maths & English at Grade C or 4 (or above)
- 120 UCAS points, from three A levels or equivalent
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent communication
- First rate literacy and numeracy
- Effective problem solving
- Commitment and enthusiasm
- Strong work ethic
- Able to work as part of a team
- Ability to prioritise, manage own workload and work to deadlines
- Energetic and self-motivated
- Ability to drive (full UK driving license) or commitment to learn
