About the Role

This assessor role is based at Harrogate College, within Hornbeam Park. The role will work closely with the Cultural, Contemporary and Heritage department whilst working under the management of apprenticeship department. The apprenticeship team comprises of 15 assessors delivering various apprenticeship standards to over 150 students. This is a meaningful and rewarding role where you have the opportunity to see your students progress through their chose study path and career, knowing that you have supported them along the way to achieve their potential.

What You Will Do

  • Will be responsible for a range of electrical apprenticeship students and will plan and carry out work placement assessment against nationally recognised standards. 
  • Ensure timely achievement of qualifications enabling students to reach their potential.
  • Keep accurate assessment logs of students.
  • Effective and efficient management of appointments, schedule and student caseload.
  • Deliver effective lessons based upon a scheme of learning 

About You

  • An excellent communicator, confident and able to build an engaging learning relationship with students to motivate them to achieve to the best of their ability.
  • Knowledge and understanding about the role of teaching assistants and early years practitioners. 
  • Ability to work independently using own initiative whilst visiting work placements, remote working and college based working.
  • A passion and ability to inspire and motivate young people to become our future education and childcare workforce.
  • Ability to be adaptable and flexible towards the requirements of different learner needs.
  • Able to communicate effectively with a wide range of employers and work placement teams.
  • Has a can-do attitude to all tasks and responsibilities. Flexible to meet workload.
  • Ability to use technology to upload, track and record students’ progress.
