Your new role
Based in a vibrant modern studio working within a small but dynamic team, you'll take a leading role within each project design team in the preparation of design and production drawings, specifications and participate in the formulation of the tender documents. Supporting the Architects and acting as Technical lead in your own right on a range of projects, you'll developing clients concepts / schemes and offer technical support when required on matters relating to building design. Your technical background will mean that you will be able to propose alternative solutions to technical and operational requirements. You will confidentially liaise with the client, design teams and external consultants when required to ensure projects are running on time and to specification. An important part of this position is being comfortable in the site-facing function, so if you're a Technologist more suited to the continued warmth of an office-space, this vacancy is likely not for you!
What you'll need to succeed
Our client is interested in speaking to qualified Architectural Technologist with experience of taking designs on site and who is confident liaising with all parties including contractors, planning, building control and utility providers. The successful candidate will be well versed in Building Regulations, methods of construction, detailed design and be proficient with AutoCAD / Revit. Demonstrable experience of working on commercial / residential projects to a high specification would be desirable, and the ability to work independently at times will be crucial.
