Architectural Technician
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Architectural Technician to join a leading organisation based in Belfast.
This is a Full-Time, temporary position with a salary of £31,414 - £37,119 (dependent on experience)
Job Role:
The Architectural Technician (Asset Management) is responsible for assisting with asset management for the University and maintaining data bases for campuses and properties across all campuses.
Duties:
- Supports the establishment of effective and continuous channels of communication with all internal and external stakeholders including staff, students, service providers and suppliers, etc. ensuring high standards of customer service.
- Provides Computer Aided Design and drafting support for the Asset Management section and as necessary, the wider Department of Estates Services.
- Prepares surveys and reports, detailed plans, specifications, quantities and contract documents.
- As necessary, prepares designs for specialist requirements, such as furniture, signage and discusses specifications with users or manufacturers.
- Liaises with consultants and contractors as directed and attends site meetings if and when required.
- Supports the resolution of defects through the completion of detailed surveys.
- Obtains and provides information to the Head of Planning and Development for the management, recording and updating of the Real Property Data on the Facilities Management System.
- Maintains comprehensive records of building drawings, together with updated referencing and updated changes, for all works, including the updating of University databases by in house staff, contractors and consultants.
- Supports the Asset Manager in the management of departmental information management systems and performance indicators to demonstrate and ensure the overall quality of service provision.
- Supports the provision of appropriate management and performance reports to assist review of management practices and provide information for the Estates Management Statistics report and other benchmarking tools.
- Supports the updating and maintenance of an architectural technical information library.
- Supports the digitisation of data and the replacement of paper records with digital.
- In all activities co-ordinates with Projects Officers.
- Any other duties appropriate to the grade and nature of the post.
