Grade UE04 – £23,144 - £25,138 per annum (pro rata). (A revised salary range for this grade of £24,533 - £27,181 is planned to take effect from Spring 2024).

Information Services Group - Heritage Collections (Access & Engagement) - Library & University Collections

Part time - 14 hours per week (Thursday and Friday)

Open ended (Permanent)

We are looking for an Archive and Library Assistant, working with Heritage Collections and based at the Centre for Research Collections, Main Library.

The Opportunity:
We are looking for a highly-motivated and customer service-driven individual to join the Research Services team. This role provides high-quality services to users of the collections, including staff, students, visiting academics, and independent researchers. The Centre for Research Collections provides access to heritage collections for research, teaching and engagement.

The Research Services team manages, develops and delivers research, user and public access to the University of Edinburgh’s heritage collections. It consists of the Research Services Manager, the St Cecilia’s Hall Curator (who manages the Museum Assistants), the Research Services Supervisor (who manages the Archive & Library Assistants), a Senior Archive & Library Assistant, Virtual Access Assistant and a Modern Apprentice. Access to collections is facilitated in person and online through the Centre for Research Collections, the School of Scottish Studies Archive and New College Library. The team manages St Cecilia’s Hall Concert Room & Music Museum.
