Area Construction Manager

NES Fircroft is recruiting a Area Construction Manager (CDM) on behalf of our client, a leader in engineering services, to be based at Sellafield Nuclear site. This is available as a permanent, staff opportunity with excellent salary and benefits package.
Overview:
To be responsible for the application of the CDM 2015 Regs in the SCP Project. Conducting assurance and ensuring compliance in the Client's role as Principal Contractor. Position will require extensive Client and Contractor liaison and reporting regarding CDM Matters and will require taking ownership of the Construction Phase Plan and liaison with Designers in ensuring Design Risk Assessments are being undertaken and that the Construction File is being compiled compliantly.
Overview of Responsibilities:

• Oversight Management and ownership of the CDM Regulations application in the SCP Project.
• Contractor and Client Liaison.
• Liaising with Design lot partner to ensure CDM is being adhered to in design activities.
• Ownership of the Construction Phase Plan for SCP.
• Ensure contractor compliance in their works.
• Coach and develop HSE Personnel in the application of the CDM Regs.
• Raise NCRs when applicable.
• Highlight any issues to the Site Construction Manager and the HSE Manager as required.
• To be the owner and Subject Matter Expert on the Application of the 2015 CDM Regulations on SCP.
• Provide direction to the Project Management on compliance and ensuring that risk and potential issues are managed in a timely manner.
• Audit and monitor sub-contractors to ensure that all construction activity is conducted in line with the requirements of the Regs.

Qualifications and Experience:

• ONC/HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or significant related experience.
• Desirable: HNC/D/BSc in Construction or Engineering subject. CMIOSH or TechIOSH.
• Experienced Construction OR HSE professional either through apprenticeship or study.
• Minimum of 10 years' Experience in Construction or an HSEQ environment in Construction.
• Expert knowledge of the CDM 2015 Regs.
• May have been engaged in a CDMC Role in the past.
• Previous Nuclear experience would be preferrable.
