Area Sales Executive needed in the construction sector.
I’m currently working with a market-leading company who have 100 years’ experience supplying a trusted product range across the UK and Europe, with a £50m global turnover.
We’re looking for a driven Area Sales Executive who has a successful track record of external business-to-business sales in the construction sector, ideally with an understanding of builders’ merchants, agricultural merchants, DIY retailers, or garden centres. This role will play a key part in the business’s retention-focused commercial strategy, ensuring a mature customer base is proactively engaged and developed whilst new opportunities are converted.
Salary: £30k to £35k base salary (depending on experience) + uncapped monthly paid commission + annual bonus (£5k OTE) + company car.
Location: Northern patch (focused on the Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, and Sheffield area, with occasional travel further north up to Dundee).
Duration: Permanent.

Responsibilities:
- Proactively manage existing accounts whilst converting new accounts / re-opening dormant accounts.
- Presenting products to clients, understanding their needs, and providing timely customised proposals.
- Negotiate effectively to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Building strong relationships with key decision makers.
- Responding quickly to customer enquiries.
- Work in conjunction with the Sales Director to deliver upon the company’s commercial strategy across your region.
- Ensure excellent customer service is delivered.
- Regular travel as required to manage a large geographical territory of accounts.
- Proactive, enthusiastic, and professional demeanour whilst engaging both internally and externally.
- Managing the company’s sales records in a CRM system.
- Conducting market research and analysis to identify industry trends and potential growth areas.
- Keeping up to date with industry developments, attending trade shows, and networking events.
