Artist Studios Development Manager
Salary: Band 9 £36,647 - £40,220 pa. - (£29,713 - £32,610 for 30 hours)
30 hours per week - - to be discussed at interview.
(You will be required to work outside of normal working hours including evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays)

Your New Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced professional with a good background in operational delivery across all aspects of creative build and cultural space management. This role will manage and support the delivery of all aspects of the Hotwalls Studios artist spaces as well as exploring opportunities for new potential spaces which could become exciting creative units.
The core functions of this role will foster and support effective occupation of the existing studio spaces, business advice and support for the artists depending on their individual needs and to have an effective working relationship with key neighbourhood organisations and likeminded cultural groups across the city.
Maintenance of the historic fabric is an essential part of the role with the Hotwalls Studios where they are located in the beautiful repurposed arches and former military spaces in Old Portsmouth.
The role will look to bring forward other spaces which can be utlised as Artist Studios including assessment of suggested spaces and working with others to secure funding to deliver them to fruition if viable.
The post holder will need to deliver the highest possible quality outcomes for all the artists involved in the spaces which are tailored to their needs. They will need to effectively communicate with the broad number of stakeholders who have a high level of interest in the public realm.
Reporting to the Partnership & Commissioning Manager this role will foster and support effective delivery of the spaces understanding the nuances of the needs of multiple users and the seasonal variations this public spaces requires. The role will be located in both the Hotwalls office and at the Seafront office or occasionally the Civic Offices.

You will need extensive experience in working with multiple partners in diverse and busy environments. You will be a natural organiser, with drive, initiative and enthusiasm for the role coupled with a genuine passion for making a difference to the Cultural Industries supporting a responsive service that will make a real difference in delivery for artists as well as local residents and visitors to the city alike.
An excellent understanding of the issues, priorities and challenges in managing best practice in an historic environment will be required in this fast paced role.
