Assessor - Engineering

Permanent, 35 hours per week (but will consider Part Time also)
Grade 5, £28,012 - £32,301 pro rata, per annum (pay award pending)
Salary incremental rise depending on start date in year.

Ref: WCSR0001085 We are excited to expand our existing Skills Programmes Engineering team to recruit an Assessor who has demonstrable occupational experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Technical Support Engineering, Mechanical Manufacture Engineering (CNC).

What will this role entail?
• You will travel to undertake assessment in the workplace of candidates undertaking SVQ qualifications and develop
demand for services.
• You will manage your portfolio of Engineering learners undertaking Modern Apprenticeships as well as
commercial SVQs at varied stages on their qualification journey to aim for successful completion whilst ensuring
contract compliance.
• You will closely liaise and develop productive working relationships with candidates’ employers. Who are you?
You will have:
• a minimum SCQF Level 7 qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Technical Support
Engineering, Mechanical Manufacture Engineering (CNC biased). e.g., minimum HNC.
• industry experience and demonstrable competence in one or more ofthe Engineering vocational areas as shown above.
• demonstrable experience of working towards the achievement of targets.
• experience of working on own initiative and as part of a team.
• excellent organisation, and planning skills.
• clean driving licence, and use of a carfor business purposes
• as perthe Awarding Body requirements, have gained a recognised apprenticeship in one ofthe specific Engineering disciplines shown above.
Desirable:
• an accredited workplace assessment qualification.
• Internal verifier award.
• experience in the use of e-portfolio software
• understanding of current SVQ Engineering vocational frameworks.
