About the Role University Centre Leeds is seeking an experienced assessor to support science apprentices on their journey to success. UC Leeds currently delivers Science Apprenticeships from Level 3 to Level 7. Higher Education is a significant aspect of the mission of Leeds City College. The College is a national provider of education, skills, training and employability opportunities and has developed extensive provision which is not provided elsewhere through more traditional HEIs. What You Will Do We are looking for an industry professional to assess the practical skills of our science apprentices on site, whilst supporting them in building their portfolio of evidence towards the End Point Assessment. This will involve; Managing your own caseload, arranging site visits and meeting with employers Monitoring progress and completing progress reviews Liaising with, and provide feedback to the employer on progress against the Apprenticeship knowledge, skills and behaviours  To produce and monitor individual learning plans for learners and contribute to their updating Lead, contribute and participate in the assessment and quality assurance procedures for all programmes/ training provision, including Internal Verification.  Contribute to the review and evaluation process in order to ensure year on year improvements.                                 About You Hold a specialist qualification in the curriculum subject area at degree level. Possess A1 Assessor units or a willingness to work towards. Level 3 teaching qualification or willingness to complete within a set timeframe. Previous experience of assessing and an understanding of the Apprenticeship Standards. Experience of teaching, training peers or transferring skills to others. Substantial industry experience in a relevant occupational area. Understanding and experience of current working practices within the occupational area. Experience of giving clear and constructive feedback to students to guide learning.
