You will join us on a Part time, job share and fixed term maternity cover opportunities available to fit around your life, and in return, we will offer a competitive salary pro rata of £23,264 – £25,424 per annum.

The Assessor/Trainer in Education and Childcare role:

We are recruiting for an Assessor Trainer in Childcare and Education to join our outstanding and expanding friendly T Level team. We are looking for an individual with a desire to make a difference in this important sector.
You will have experience of communicating with a diverse range of learners and using a range of assessment techniques to prepare them for summative assessments. This will include observing students in work placement and conducting professional discussions to assess their competence. You will use your experience of interpreting, developing and delivering training sessions to deliver a high-quality learning experience to students on our Level 3 T Level in Education and Childcare course.
We can be flexible with the hours of work and will consider requests for job share. We also have lecturer roles being advertised, where it could be possible to have a split role for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities of ourAssessor/Trainer in Education and Childcare:

• Supporting the learners’ development of vocational competence and the wider skills that relate to employability.
• Training and/or assessing learners within the relevant vocational area to awarding organisation standards in a timely manner.
• Applying relevant initial and diagnostic assessment to individualised training plans.
• Agreeing a training programme of development and assessment in partnership with the employer, setting realistic but challenging goals that meet the learners’ and employers’ needs, and include on and off the job training where required.
• Actively listening, providing feedback and engaging learners in planning their individualised training programme through coaching and mentoring; supporting the delivery and acheivement of additional qualifications as required.
• Assessing learners’ competence in relation to work-related/industry standards.
• Providing workbased practice of the assessment instruments in the EPA where required, give timely and constructive feedback on assessment outcomes and progress, review and set new targets with candidates.
• Completing relevant documentation in an accurate and organised manner, ensuring candidates are monitored and assessed against awarding body standards.

Our ideal Assessor/Trainer in Education and Childcare should have the below skills and experience:

• Level 2 in literacy and numeracy
• Level 3 (or above for higher and degree apprenticeships) subject sector relevant qualification
• Working knowledge of the relevant vocational area
• Relevant and recent vocational experience in the relevant industry sector
• Experience of mentoring students/trainees for qualifications/early years practice
