Job description

My client provides investment administration and management services for large, UK Pensions schemes. The business has seen steady growth in recent years and counts some of the largest DC schemes in the UK among their clients, with responsibility for £20billion+ AUM. Now entering a period of planned growth, the business is looking for an experienced Team Leader to join their Transitions Team, to oversee Onboarding, Restructuring, Offboarding and Specialist Fund activities within their busy, and growing, team of Asset Transitions Analysts. This will be a hands-on role that will include:

  • Planning and management of Onboarding projects and complex DC restructures
  • Planning and implementation of large DC scheme rebalances
  • Planning and oversight of non-BAU transactional activity
  • Cash reconciliation reviews
  • Ownership of escalated, complex issues
  • Line management and performance management for direct reports; 1:1’s, appraisals, setting objectives, training & development plans etc.
  • Ensure process and control documentation are maintained and reflect current processes
  • Identify and implement process enhancements, working with management to develop service proposition
  • Assist management in, and be proactive with, the development of an efficient, controlled and scalable operations model and drive through change
  • Support and provide expertise to any change activity impacting Asset Transitions processes
  • Manage risk identification, interpretation and mitigation, ensuring risk management framework through incident reporting, control and risk reviews
Qualifications, experience and skills
  • Member of the CISI and holder of the Investment Operations Certificate qualification or equivalent.
  • Demonstrable experience of leading a team in a similar environment in a flexible, approachable, and collaborative manner.
  • Experience of Asset Transitionsand/or Investment Operations within a Life Company, Fund Administrator or Investment Platform.
  • Good technical knowledge of Unit Linked principles and practices.
  • Ability to identify, interpret and mitigate risks within the team’s activities and escalate issues and risks as appropriate.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and inter-personal skills.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to train and mentor junior staff.
  • Exhibit a problem-solving, inquisitive nature and ability to challenge.
  • Experience working with the InvestPro investment administration system would be a distinct advantage.
