We are excited to be working with a fast-growing business with substantial private equity backing, providing specialist lending products to retail consumers and businesses in the UK. Since launching in 2019 the focus has been in the divorce and probate lending markets.
They provide divorce solicitor firms and their clients with finance for litigation, and inheritance loans to beneficiaries and executors of inherited estates.
You will manage a portfolio of applications from first enquiry through to live loan, loan maintenance and settlement/collection. You will be the first point of contact for new applications, and through the process of triage ensure only those with a likely chance of success are submitted and reviewed. You will review each application to ensure it is complete, carry out credit checks, and then submit to the Risk Team for approval.
Responsibilities:
- Dealing with new enquiries through to submission
- Validate new business applications
- Carry out underwriting checks against agreed Credit Policy
- Prepare credit proposals and coordinate internal approvals.
- Pipeline management - pro-active, end-to-end responsibility for pipeline management
- Loan servicing - preparing loan documents, assessing drawdown requests, and obtaining case updates from solicitors.
- Record keeping - maintain complete and accurate case file records.
- Data management - support the maintenance of our loan data systems and reporting as required.
- Communication - liaise with customers and partner firms by phone and email.
- Ad hoc tasks as required.
Skills and experience:
- Strong experience in a credit/administration role in a financial services business.
- Strong customer service ability and good telephone manner.
- Good understanding of credit risk and consumer lending.
- IT savvy: good MS Office skills and ability to adapt to internal systems.
- Excellent record keeping skills and ability to maintain internal databases.
- Good academic record with a minimum of 5 A*-C GCSEs (including English and Maths).
- Highly organised, self-motivated, and competent at diary management
- Experience of managing a portfolio of cases end-to-end.
