SALARY: £13.50 - £17.00 an hour (dependant on experience)
EMPLOYMENT: Temporary (approx. 10 months), full-time (36.5 hours), office-based
Reed Accountancy is partnered with a fantastic organisation in County Antrim in the recruitment of an Assistant Accountantto work temporarily for approximately 10 months.
Playing an integral role within the accounts team, the successful Assistant Accountantwill ensure the sound financial control throughout the organisation and provide accurate and relevant financial information.
Key responsibilities include:
- Production of annual budgets.
- Assist with production of statutory accounts for the organisation and subsidiary companies.
- Preparation of monthly management reports.
- Variance analysis, investigation, and reporting.
- Produce activity-based costing reports for each event.
- Assist with purchase ledger management.
- Process supplier and bank payments using Sage 50 Accounts.
- Implementation of financial systems and budgetary control.
- Implementation of monitoring controls to ensure full system and procedural compliance.
- Administer the payroll function including HMRC liabilities and returns.
- To keep under review any new developments within the area of finance and make recommendations for improvements.
What you’ll need to succeed!
- Part Qualified / Professional qualification in accounting, e.g. ACCA, CIMA
- Experience of handling day to day management of accounts / report generation
- Excellent IT skills Strong Microsoft Excel (pivot tables and V Lookups)
- Strong experience of Sage 50 Accounts and Sage Payroll
- Flexibility re: working hours.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience of working in a busy commercial environment
- Knowledge of IT hardware systems
