SalaryCMA Recruitment Group are working exclusively with a growing SME based in Millbrook, Southampton, to help them recruit a newly created Assistant Accountant role. This position will report into the Finance Manager and support with transactional and month end procedures.
What will the Assistant Accountant role involve:
* Monitoring ledgers (closing at month end) and posting journals.
* Prepare financial statements at month end.
* Accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations and P&L reports.
* Oversee the inventory management process including procurement, stock levels and reconciliations (30% of the role).
* Support with purchase and sales ledger invoicing.
* VAT returns.
Suitable candidate for the Assistant Accountant role:
* Studying towards a professional qualification (ACA/ ACCA).
* Some experience within manufacturing/ inventory management would be beneficial.
* Strong attention to detail and capable of working independently.
* Excel skills to an Int/ Adv level including v-look ups, pivot tables, sum-ifs.
