A company based in Derby with over 125 years of experience in their field, are looking for an Assistant Buyer to join their team on a temporary to permanent basis. As the Assistant Buyer, you will play an integral role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role will involve working closely alongside other areas of the business to ensure cost effective buying, suitably timed for production/customer orders.
Duties include:
- Run MRP for stocked parts
- Create purchase orders via ERP system from MRP
- Expedite orders to ensure all goods arrive by wanted date
- Obtain and send out RFQs
- Schedule orders and materials based on stock and allocations
- Maintain supply price lists
- Action non-stocked requisitions
- Highlight cost saving opportunities
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, both foreign and domestic
The Assistant Buyer will have excellent Excel skills. You will also work well in a fast-paced environment and be able to communicate on various levels.
This is a temporary to permanent position, and you will be offered a salary of 28,000 - 32,000 depending on experience. Working hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm with an hour for lunch; this is fully office based. Also, you will be offered 25 days annual leave plus statutory Bank Holidays once this goes to permanent.
