Assistant Compliance Officer - Insurance

We are exclusively recruiting for a niche Insurance business based in Hertfordshire who are looking to hire an Assistant Compliance Officer in a newly created role. The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of FCA rules relevant to their business and must be comfortable working in a hands-on environment.
Main Responsibilities:

• Ensure that the necessary regulatory and governance requirements for the firm.
• Provide advice and guidance to the Head of Compliance, Risk and Internal Audit, ExCo, managers and the operation.
• Set and monitor polices against regulatory requirements and providing pro-active support for the delivery of the business objectives of the group companies and to undertake quality assurance activity.
• Maintain a good knowledge of PRA/ FCA and other regulatory requirements and interpret various rules to formulate and propose solutions appropriate to business requirements.
• Provide compliance advice, guidance, quality assurance and training to staff to ensure that effective policies and procedures are developed and maintained in order to promote compliance with all appropriate regulations.
• Develop and review compliance manuals, policies and procedures, and associated documentation.
• Manage the product governance process.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years Compliance experience working within an FCA regulated Insurance business.
• Strong knowledge of the FCA rules and regulations.
• CII qualification, preferable.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Good communicator, comfortable dealing with all levels of staff.
