We are currently recruiting a Translations and Assistant Contracts Specialist to join our growing Latin American and Caribbean team in Ipswich!
The successful candidate will provide professional quality translations, formal reinsurance contracts and other related documents in Spanish/English or English/Spanish. Insurance or Reinsurance knowledge would be useful, but we will provide full training to the successful candidate so please apply today!
Responsibilities:- Full formal translation of contractual wordings.
- Technical or summary translation of claims reports of client sensitive material.
- Review and translate presentations for new tenders, business presentations and similar.
- Provide Spanish language conversational support to the team on request.
- All translations to be made Spanish into English and English into Spanish. (Portuguese would be useful, but not essential).
Provide formal Reinsurance Contracts to support our business in:
- All types of new or renewal treaty non-proportional and proportional business reinsurance contracts.
- Draft reinsurance contracts for all Classes of Business including Property, Engineering, Casualty, Motor, Cyber, Personal Accident, Life, Agriculture, and other classes as required.
- Ensure drafting is compliant with internal and external requirements, London Market Reform guidelines and the Financial Conduct Authority “Contract Certainty Code of Practice”.
- Adhere to standardised Group policies and procedures, including our Client Excellence Model (CEM) and other regulatory requirements in the territories.
Keep up to date with the latest market developments and clauses:
- Deliver contract advice and guidance to all relevant parties.
- Review contracts from third parties and recommend areas for improvement to Broking Teams.
- Participate in post placement reviews in conjunction with Broking Teams.
- Participate in resolution of contract related queries, advise and/or seek guidance if required
- Provide support and guidance to Gallagher Re overseas offices.
- Maintain Contract Templates in accordance with agreed Gallagher Re practice.
- Maintain Central Repository and clause libraries to support the team.

Initially, the responsibilities will be determined and varied by experience level and training and development will be available to develop your knowledge and experience to meet the requirements and challenges of this role as you build a career in Reinsurance Contract Drafting.
Qualifications:- BA in Translation and Interpreting Degree (or equivalent). Spanish/English, English/Spanish essential.
- Any Insurance, Reinsurance, Legal or Contract drafting experience would be desirable, but not crucial.
- CII qualifications or studying towards these qualifications would be beneficial.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel.
