```Job Overview```
We are seeking a talented, creative and commercially minded UK based Assistant Designer to join our small, growing UK team, working within the value and mid market fashion sector.
The role will involve supporting and assisting the UK product development team by gathering global market trend data to create new and exciting seasonal, cross category trends. The Assistant Designer will also be required to work collaboratively with the team to create fresh, innovative, commercial and relevant shape and graphic cad designs for internal developments along with bespoke designs for our customers. The product categories include true knitwear (from baby to ladies), nightwear (baby, kids, mens & ladies), kids sets including wovens, kids outerwear and Licensed across all categories . The role will also include compiling garment tech packs for the factories to follow to ensure high quality, accurate sampling.
```Responsibilities```
- Collaborate with the product development team to create innovative and compelling visual shape and graphic designs for our customers across multi product categories
- Work with Adobe Creative Suite, InVision, CorelDraw, and other design software to create high-quality designs
- Conduct market research to stay up-to-date with current design trends and industry best practices and translate your research into trend boards to form the basis of the design direction for the season
- Support the product development team in various administrative tasks as needed
```Experience```
- Proven experience in garment and graphic 2D cad design. 3D cad experience would be a bonus
- True knitwear cad design experience essential
- Must have childrenswear design experience
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and powerpoint
- Familiarity with finalizing designs for production, including technical specifications
- Understanding of materials, textiles, and fashion design processes, including sustainable fibres and materials
- Ability to manage projects and deadlines effectively, and communicate clearly and efficiently with the team
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant subject such as fashion design, textile design or graphic design.
- Experience of working in a design role in the fashion and apparel industry, preferably in value and mid market sector essential
- Self- motivated and strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Licensed design experience is a bonus
- UK based
- Some European travel required, so must be able to travel as and when needed
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Salary: £250.00 per day
Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week
