In the summer of 2024, Durham University Business School will be relocating a number of its key activities to a new city centre location. This has given rise to a fixed term opportunity to assist the Faculty Operations Manager and the wider Business School during this dynamic and exciting period of change. The role will focus on the continuity of the day to day business of the School across the new and existing site, as well as supporting with the changes required. The main objective of the Assistant Faculty Operations Manager at the Business School will be to support the Faculty Operations Manager in ensuring the smooth running of the buildings estate which form the Business School. Working with staff at all levels across the Business School, as well as other departments within the University, they will work closely to support the Faculty Operations Manager in ensuring appropriate delivery of operational service, including Business School IT Helpdesk provision and that the School’s physical environment, including office, teaching and social space, supports the School’s activities. They will also ensure that the integrity and standards of the premises and facilities are maintained and improved, within agreed budgets, in line with those of a world ranking Business School. The post holder will work closely with the Health and Safety Coordinator in supporting health and safety across all Durham University Business School activities, ensuring that the School complies with University Health and Safety Regulations, and that students, staff and clients have a safe working environment. The role demands an excellent ability to establish effective working relationships with staff at all levels across the School and wider university, including Computing and Information Services, Accommodation and Commercial Services, Health and Safety, Security Services, Estates and Facilities, University Catering, Event Durham, Library and departments within the Colleges Division.
