Permanent Office based role working Monday to Thursday 9am – 5pm and Friday 9am – 4pm

Commutable from York, Scarborough, Driffield, Malton, Kirkbymoorside

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Assistant Financial Controller to join a well-established company based in Pickering, North Yorkshire.

The Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller and working in a team of 5 you will have overall responsibility for the complete and accurate accounting of all the entities and the production of the monthly Management Accounts. To support and deputise for the financial controller as required.

Duties

• Supporting the Financial Controller as required with day-to-day accounting and reporting, including deputising as required
• Working collaboratively with the finance team in order to complete the background work in a timely manner necessary to produce monthly management accounts for both entities, including investigating variances and producing first draft of the management accounts and commentary
• Recording all transactions in the bank accounts on a monthly basis
• Reconciling all Balance Sheet accounts for both entities on a monthly basis and ensuring all items are cleared within a reasonable timescale
• Working to enhance and streamline financial and reporting processes to ensure that they are constantly evolving and improving quality of information that is distributed to all users
• Supporting the Financial Controller with preparation of annual budgets, cash flow forecasts, assisting with preparation of year end accounts and liaising with the auditors
• Providing cover for other members of the department as required

Skills/Experience

• Qualified to AAT Level 4 or equivalent
• Previous experience within a similar role is essential
• Ability to prepare management accounts
• Strong Excel skills
• Self-motivated
• Organised
• Budgeting and Cashflow knowledge would be an advantage
