REPORTS TO: Head of Grounds
LOCATION: cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens, Northampton
REMIT:
Reporting to the Head of Grounds you will support the grounds maintenance services and processes. You will work with the grounds team to ensure the highest standards of safety and grounds maintenance for our stadium pitches, grounds and training facility. This role will be a fixed term contract with an initial term of three months with potential to extend.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
To support the grounds team in the delivery of high-quality Grounds maintenance services, in line with Northampton Saints policies, legislation, compliance, training and industry best practice. To be trained in the use, application and maintenance of specialist grounds care equipment and operations including pedestrian and ride on mowers, tractor mounted implements and other associated tasks i.e. Playing surface, aeration, line marking, spraying, divoting, fertilizing, brushing, top dressing, seeding, weeding, watering and general maintenance, renovation and repair of all grass, planted and landscaped areas. To adhere to health & safety requirements for each individual task ensuring correct usage of PPE, Machinery prestart checks and following detailed instructions outlined in the departments safe systems of work procedures. To work with the grounds team to ensure necessary action is taken where inclement weather or other factors are predicted to ensure that all games and training can go ahead. To maintain excellent housekeeping across all work areas ensuring they are kept safe, clean, tidy and secure at all times. To undertake any other duties as designated by your line manager to ensure the smooth running of all operational aspects of the business. THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
A formal grounds qualification (e.g. NVQ) or experience in a grounds maintenance role is desirable but not essential Good level of physical fitness to undertake labour intensive tasks and manual handling operations outdoors in all weather A flexible approach to working hours, the role will require some weekend and evening working Extremely high standards of customer care and service when dealing with on site visitors and general members of the public Self-motivated team player with a can-do attitude HOW TO APPLY:
