About the Team

 

Our Ecology, Historic Environment & Landscape (EHEL) team is looking to employ a new Assistant Historic Environment Officer to bolster its Planning, Projects, Records and Natural Capital teams. You will be joining a dedicated and experienced team of 16 ecology, 5 Historic Environment and 2 landscape officers.

About the role

 

We are looking for an Assistant Historic Environment Officer to work predominantly in the Records Team to help manage and maintain records within the Warwickshire and Solihull Historic Environment Records and help support the delivery of several HER projects including the NRHE to HERs project and the Forestry SHINE Enhancement Project. Candidates who have an understanding and experience of HERs will be looked upon favourably for this role. This role will also help with the Planning Team assisting with archaeological planning advice. Candidates who understand the planning system will be looked upon favourably for this role.

 

This post is fixed term for two years until 31st March 2026, however we hope with further funding this post can be extended. This position is office based in Warwick with agile working available.

 

Key requirements

 

We will be choosing someone that fits into the existing team based on existing skills coupled with an enthusiasm to expand skill sets. We have a workforce training plan that promotes active progression from apprentices to Service Manager, following the respective chartered institute competency frameworks (or equivalent).
