JOB TITLE: Assistant Investment Accountancy Manager

SALARY: £49,788 - £55,320

LOCATION(S): Bristol, Edinburgh or Leeds

HOURS: Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in one of the offices listed above.

About this opportunity

Within the Bank's Insurance, Pensions and Investments Finance division an exciting opportunity has arisen within the Investment Accounting & Operations team for an Investment Accounting Assistant Manager.

Investment Accounting & Operations is responsible for the data, systems and reporting of financial instruments held in insurance, pensions and investment Funds. The team has Finance SMEs that cover investment fund accounting, accounting for financial instruments, Group Reporting of Investment Funds (using LBG ledgers and consolidation systems) and Regulatory Reporting (Insurance specific). The team also distributes investment data to internal teams for use in actuarial models and risk monitoring.

The role has no direct report responsibilities but as an assistant manager you will be encouraged to lead on specific areas of work to achieve common goals.

Day to day you'll be;

  • Handling and minimising operational risks by operating complex reconciliation and control processes.
  • Posting journals relating to Investment Fees or other Investment Balances not captured correctly by source systems.
  • Managing and overseeing activity delivered by third party fund management and accounting service providers.
  • Supporting agreed change projects to deliver continuous improvement.
  • Scoping to plan and prioritise your own workload, including liaison with colleagues in other functions.
  • Assisting with the management of sophisticated processes in terms of scale, scope and specialism with a cross-divisional impact and be a recognised subject matter expert.

What you'll need

  • Typically, you will be a qualified or part qualified accountant (ACCA or equivalent), we will also consider candidates who are qualified by experience.
  • Experience in an investment or funds operational or accounting function.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and engagement skills to influence up to Head of Department level.

And any experience of these would be really useful

  • Experience in PowerBI or Tableau.
