Assistant Management Accountant

* Salary to £35k (may be some flexibility on this).

Assistant Management Accountant (Manufacturing) opportunity with the Southampton based Manufacturing division of a leading £40m to UK Retail/Manufacturing/Distribution business. Reporting to the local Site General Manager, and offsite Finance Director, you will be responsible for:
* Accounting duties to Trial Balance level and submission of site financial information the Head Office based Group FD.
* Working closely with the Accounting Team and Operations to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.
* Recording day-to-day financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
* Reconciling accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
* Liaising with Creditors and Debtors to resolve any queries that arise.
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts by reconciling bank statements and other financial documents.
* Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations monthly.
* Assisting with the preparation of the monthly management accounts.
* Supporting financial audits as required.
* Collaborating with other departments to gather financial data and assisting with financial analysis.
Applicants will ideally be fully qualified AAT or part qualified CIMA or ACCA Assistant Accountants - although Non Qualified /"Qualified by Experience" will be considered as the FD considers relevant experience more important than the level of qualification. You will be skilled and experienced across most - if not all - of the areas outlined above, ideally gained whilst working in an SME Manufacturing/Factory environment. You will be a team player, able to demonstrate a track record of working in collaboration with local management and operations teams. You will enjoy working in a hands-on, broad, autonomous role and will be keen to add value and make a difference. You will have an excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis.
