Assistant Management Accountant / Management Accountant - Retail Business - London - £40-45,00 + study support

An excellent opportunity for learning, development and study. This well established retail business in Central London which is part of a larger group, is looking for an ambitious Assistant Management Accountant / Management Accountant to look after the key reporting in its business while working closely with the Finance Director. Responsibility will include:

• Accruals & prepayments review across business units for journal workings.
• Update sales reports for all locations into the accounts system.
• Update and reconcile all bank accounts for retail business units.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations on all retail control accounts.
• Prepare monthly profit and loss account statements for the retail business unit.
• Develop a system of improvements to existing processes to ensure faster month end close.
• Run data sets from the electronic point of sales system across all retail units for consolidation and import to the accounting system.
• Liaise with retail managers where accounting returns information is incomplete.
• Prepare and manage intercompany transactions across retail entities
• Review transactions and data imported to the system to ensure data integrity
• Manage small company annual audits for retail locations overseas in association with Finance Manager
• Act as a finance function business partner to all retail sites addressing all financial information requirements.
• Working with a large volume of data sets across various ERP systems to generate analysis and reports for output to the retail business unit.
• Provide ad-hoc reporting sales and costs analysis.
• Review and improve reliability of aged receivables balances for retail business.
• Review and improve reliability of aged payable balances for retail business.
• Issue all weekly payments to retail suppliers on the banking system.
• Ensure the purchase invoices have been accurately and correctly posted to the correct nominal account code.

The ideal candidate will be a part qualified studying Accountant (ACCA or CIMA) looking for genuine career progression and the chance to learn from a dynamic Finance Director. You will have strong excel and systems skills as well as previous experience within a multisite retail business. Other industry sectors will be considered if you have the right skillset and ambition. The company will offer study support and will be looking to get you over the line in terms of qualifying.
