Overview
The Assistant Management Accountant plays a critical role in producing management information for Reed Online and Reed Learning. You will work closely with the finance team and other internal stakeholders to identify where improvements in processes can be made.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain balance sheet reconciliations
- Calculation of accruals and prepayments, along with other period end journals
- Analysis of costs, looking at trend and against plan
- Processing of purchase invoices and co-member expenses
- Setting up payment schedule for both purchase invoices and expenses, along with supporting documents for approvals via Docusign, and subsequent payment run
- Dealing with supplier and expense queries from both internal and external stakeholders in a timely manner
- Reconciliation of all supplier statements to ensure the supplier ledgers reflects a true and accurate liability position
- Ensuring compliance to internal control processes
Skills and Experience
- Proven success in a similar role
- Ability to follow and identify new procedures and the confidence to question expenditure from all levels of the organisation
- Strong IT skills, with good knowledge of Excel
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work with a degree of autonomy, be flexible, collaborative and with a proactive approach.
- Ability to produce timely and accurate information
- Use of Sage and Unit4 would be desirable, but not essential
