The Souvenir Collection continues to be the leading specialist provider of accessories and gifting to attractions across the UK and Europe. We are currently looking to recruit an Assistant Merchandiser to support our Merchandise Manager and we are looking for a motivated self-starter who is passionate about what they do.
The ideal candidate will have some experience in a similar role and environment. You must have good attention to detail, a methodical and organised approach to work and able to thrive under pressure with good problem-solving skills.
Involved in creating purchase orders for the department, ensuring all POs are confirmed and on the in-house system and deal with customers and factories providing clear and precise information.
Role responsibilities:
- Supporting the sales team with pricing, up costings and price negotiations whilst ensuring margins are met.
- Achieve the best possible product quality and delivery.
- Consolidating shipments of orders from various factories to ensure best rates.
- Liaising with offices and factories on lead times.
- Manage the critical path to make sure production dates are on time.
- Product development to increase the range for the customer & increase margins.
- Managing customer deliveries including dealing with forwarders, sea/air freights etc.
- Managing goods coming in.
- Liaising with the warehouse and providing paperwork before deliveries are due to arrive.
- Follow upon any customer problems/issues which arise.
Key skills & Experience
- At least 2 years working in a similar role with experience of pricing and working with overseas factories.
- Good knowledge of critical path management / liaising with buyers, factories and sales is key.
- First class communication skills both verbal and written.
- Works well under pressure with a can-do attitude.
- Strong time management skills.
- Highly organised, efficient and can work to tight deadlines, within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Must be pro-active, able to use initiative.
