PLEASE REFER TO THE JOB DESCRIPTION FOR FULL DETAILS The post holder requires excellent interpersonal skills to enable them to communicate in a clear and empathetic manner they also require persuasive and motivational skills for negotiating priorities during daily service provision. Also, highly contentious information to staff relating to imaging service provision, delivery and innovations, to ensure a quality patient service is maintained. This may require persuasive, motivational, negotiation, empathy and reassurance, where agreement or cooperation is required or where there are communication barriers e.g. where the clients first language is not English, hearing impairment, educational impairment etc.
Relevant counselling skills and understanding are vital. This relates to information and support for patients and colleagues; negotiating priorities during daily service provision, negotiation of service improvement requirements and dealing with Human Resource issues, disciplinary procedures, sickness management etc. During clinical duties the post holder receives and provides complex and sensitive information. They will be required to use empathy, negotiating and motivational skills as there may be barriers to understanding.
They need to establish good relationships with team members, use counselling and teaching skills. The post holder will require motivational and persuasive skills to help promote proficient team working, and excellent communication skills to maintain effective communication with all members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure there is an effective flow of information relating to Diagnostic Imaging and promote mutual respect and understanding of professional roles and responsibilities.
