Assistant Planner (Cambridge)

Osborne Richardson is delighted to be working with a leading planning consultancy to appoint an Assistant Planner to join their team of experts. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, capable and passionate about planning.

The role specifics

In this role you will provide support to the wider planning team on planning applications and projects, including eco-friendly projects relating to large-scale residential, commercial and mixed-use schemes. You will also develop core competencies to consolidate your technical skills and confidence as you build your career, with the support of colleagues.

Overall you will work within a friendly team, on a wide mix of schemes in and around Cambridge. The role will involve you assisting on pre-applications and planning applications, visiting sites, attending community engagement meetings – all while receiving support to develop your career (including help with your APC to become MRTPI qualified if you are not yet chartered).

Role requirements

All applicants must have an RTPI accredited planning degree or Masters in a related discipline. The successful candidate will also have a proven track record and around 2 or more years of relevant experience in Planning, Architecture or Urban Design. 

You’ll need to have a professional attitude and be a team player. Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as good IT skills are essential. Being a member of a relevant professional body, or working towards membership (i.e. RTPI, RIBA) is advantageous. 

Reward

You’ll be offered a salary ranging between £27,000 - £30,000 per annum for this role, depending on your experience and qualifications. This is also an excellent opportunity for those wanting to progress in their planning career.
