Job description

Are you a qualified Assistant Practitioner looking to join a team of dynamic and caring professionals?
An opportunity has arisen to join the Central Youth Service based at St Stephen’s Road, Norwich. The team works in a recovery focused way with individuals who are experiencing severe and enduring mental ill-health.
Our dynamic and collaborative team are based at 80 St Stephen’s Road, Norwich. However, the team are required to travel to visit service users in surrounding areas. You’ll be working alongside a close knit multi-disciplinary team of Assistant Practitioners, Social Workers, Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Peer Support Workers, Psychologists, Psychological Therapists, Psychiatrists and Care Support Workers.
We provide a community-based service to Norwich and surrounding areas; we have excellent working relationships with external agencies and partners who are all working together to develop recovery-based care plans.
You will need to be conscientious and do everything you can to provide patient centred care. You will work within the NSFT trust values and be able to meet deadlines to ensure that the service is delivered safely and effectively making sure service users obtain the support and care they need in a timely manner.
Our welcoming and collaborative team is recovery focused and works with a mixed caseload of male and female service users, who have complex mental health needs.
We’re passionate about career progression, development and uncovering training opportunities – from the moment you join us, you will be supported to learn, develop and progress within your mental health career.
By joining our team, you will be well supported to develop further your knowledge and skills to deliver evidence-based interventions for the group of service users. Personal development will be supported through meaningful Appraisal and via a bespoke training package (a comprehensive in house & external training programmes). On a monthly basis you will be offered reflective practice sessions, mandatory clinical supervision, and Line management supervision. You will also have an opportunity to actively take part in Quality improvement projects within the service. There is also opportunities to enrol in local university training programmes in medication management as well as numerous other developmental opportunities.
My name is Kirstie Harvey and I am the new Team Manager for the Youth Service. This is currently an exciting time for our team, as we develop our service to meet the needs of our young people in Norfolk.
In our service we support young people (aged 14-25 years) who are experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties. We have enthusiastic and skilled staff who provide the support that is needed - and they are motivated to make a real difference to young people, their families and carers.
Why work for us? We have challenges as a Trust, but we have ambitious aspirations, are pushing ahead with exciting transformation work and we need dedicated individuals to support us on our journey. We have strong, established professional networks coupled with an exceptional leadership team who will ensure you are truly cared for and cared about.
Why Norfolk and Suffolk? The people here are warm and welcoming, you’ll never be far from the beautiful coastline or Broads National Park. We’re an hour and a half away from London and have an international airport in Norwich too. Our villages, towns and cities are packed full of history, independent cafes, shops and theatres. We have excellent shopping, eating out, top ranking schooling and affordable house prices too.
As an employer, Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust pride ourselves on being a welcoming, talented, friendly and supportive team who like nothing better than sharing experiences and learning from each other.
