Post Title:Assistant Principal Educational Psychologist – Education Improvement Lead

Salary: Soulbury B Scale Points 4–7
£58,348 - £62,540 (plus opportunity for + 3 SPA)
Full time, Permanent post (part-time applications and job shares will be considered)
This is an exciting opportunity to work with the developing Educational and Community Psychology Service. You will assist Bury Council in the development of a fit-for-purpose delivery model of psychological services. The service is very aspirational and with the backing of senior managers, aims to drive school improvement alongside offering community psychology initiatives.
This work will involve assisting in the development and delivery of a range of services and interventions including:
- Work across the local authority to lead on school improvement projects.
- Training, development and project work, including the delivery of the ELSA training programme.
- An analysis of nursery, school and post-16 needs to drive the service delivery model.
- Individual and group work with CYP, including statutory assessment work
- Supervision and management of staff within the EP service.
- Evaluation of service delivery
The service is partnered with the Salford and Tameside Psychology Service and there will be development and CPD opportunities across all services.
Requirements of the post:
- To be a qualified and experienced Educational Psychologist with HCPC registration.
- Relevant experience of working with children in family homes, educational / clinical or community settings to promote children’s well-being and progress;
- Evidence of using psychological understanding and approaches to support practice;
- Subject to an Enhanced DBS Check;
- Driving Licence and own transport

Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week based around the usual business working week. Dependent on service requirements, you may be required to work on a rota basis.
