A prominent beauty company has an excellent opportunity available for an Assistant Product Developer to join a fast growing, successful, cosmetics and skincare company.

The unique role will be working within a fast-paced New Product Development department assisting the Creative Director and teams to successfully deliver projects to our worldwide customers.

The Role:

• Assisting Creative Team in the generation of Seasonal Trends – intensive research, creative mood boarding, sample development
• Assisting the Creative Team with Trend Reporting
• Tracking consumer, product, market & seasonal trends and documenting for the rest of the business to use.
• Cosmetic colour development. Building colour ranges with customers based on sales performance and seasonal trends.
• Formula development for Brand and Private Label in collaboration with the Laboratory and Quality Control teams to meet target sensory requirements and Technical Regulations
• Working closely with UK & China based teams to source new componentry and packaging.
• Design and Artwork generation with the graphics team including briefing, checking, amending and prioritising.
• Working with Product Managers to generate product costings to support customer quotations, including negotiating savings with suppliers
• Arranging Cosmetic, Component & Packaging samples, reviewing all samples received against key briefs, using creative solutions to keep all products on track and in line with brief, brand USP and ethos.
• Formula USP Sheet Generation
• Support Online Comp Shops for Managers and Creative Director
• Sample Purchasing for Product Development team – keep record in Benchmark Log & credit card receipts.
• Ad Hoc Sample Management as required.
• Ad Hoc Admin & Research Tasks as required

Skills Required:

• Ideally you will have a creative eye, excellent researching skills, a keen problem solver and great attention to detail.
• Beauty Obsessed – good knowledge of beauty products
• Avid user of social media
• Must be flexible and responsive working on a high volume of projects at one time.
• Creative eye and strong attention to detail.
• Good communication & organisation skills
• Ability to build strong internal relationships across all areas of the business in particular NPD, Graphics, Technical and the China team.
• Good team player displaying both enthusiasm and flexibility
• Competent IT skills.
