The role
As an Assistant Project Planner you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll be embedded within one of our key programmes or Gunnery project teams and be integral to achieving high-performance delivery to our customers. You will own and undertake project planning & scheduling activities and provide related support to wider project controls activities such as cost, risk, and performance management.
Day to day, you'll create, maintain, and own project delivery schedules, as well as:
- Ensure the project team and related accountable owners have clear visibility of future scheduled activities and milestone to ensure on time delivery of all related work scopes.
- Generate and circulate weekly and monthly schedule performance reports (including EVM), and associated analysis and narrative to inform management of progress, risks, and potential issues with the support of project controllers.
- Provide related scheduling input into project risk reviews.
- Support the undertaking of Schedule Risk Analysis.
- Support on project Earned Value Management reporting.
This role is a hybrid role with 2 days per week onsite at Devonport.
Essential experience of the Assistant Project Planner:
- Practitioner of P6 and / or Microsoft Project - Desirable
- Competent on all Microsoft Packages (Word, PowerPoint etc)
- Application of risk management and use of related tools (ARM/Risk Hive etc) - Desirable
Qualifications for the Assistant Project Planner:
- APM Project Planning & Controls Qualification - Desirable
The successful candidate must be able to achieve BPSS security clearance for this role.
