Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Required for our client to join them at their office in Hook. The client is a Civil Engineering Contractor and are one of the largest privately-owned waste management companies in the South of England and a leading demolition specialist nationwide. In addition to this, they are also producers of premium recycled aggregates and award-winning ready mix concrete products using demolition waste.
The successful candidate will have a Degree in Quantity Surveying and will be expected to support the commercial and contractual management of projects, from inception to final account. The Assistant QS will be working closely with project teams and support functions to build strong relationships with our clients and supply chain to achieve successful commercial outcomes.
Assistant Quantity Surveyor Position Remuneration
- Salary: £30k - £35k

Assistant Quantity Surveyor Position Overview
- Maintaining good relationships with clients, consultants and colleagues.
- Ensuring that we fulfil all our contractual obligations.
- Preparing project budgets in conjunction with the contracts managers and operations director.
- Assisting contracts managers in the preparation of contractual notices including EWNs/ NCE's and EOT requests.
- Undertaking site visits to monitor for possible variations and similar matters and ensuring that site records are produced.
- Advising contracts managers regarding all commercial matters (variations, delays etc.) and ensuring that they are identified and recorded.
- Agreeing interim payment amounts with clients, monitoring when payment notices are due/received/outstanding.
- Preparing and managing the monthly reporting/CVR process.
- Monitoring budgets against costs and projections on a monthly basis.
- Ensuring that all contractual obligations are fulfilled
Assistant Quantity Surveyor Position Requirements
- Degree in Quantity Surveying.
- Work experience in a commercial role.
- Understanding of the JCT Standard Forms of Contract and similar.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to communicate financial and contractual matters.
- To be an effective communicator and team player at all levels, with the ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to effectively utilise and develop skills in a range of software including the MS office suite and finance systems.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
