The Assistant Rail Timetable Planner will assist the Timetable Planner in providing the Rail Services Division and all associated departments with short term timetable alterations, train crew and set working alterations with regards to holidays, engineering closures and events planning in a timely and cost effective manner.

You will also ensure the cost effective use of the available fleet and provide cover for the Timetable Planner & Rail Validation Systems Manager in their absence in respect to holidays, sickness or unavailability.

Essential Criteria

• Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, or equivalent, including English, Maths or alternatively, be able to demonstrate at least 2 years relevant experience in a similar post.
• Minimum of 3 years experience of working within an operational environment.
• Experience of analysing information.
• Experience of producing information to a high level of accuracy.
• Experience of devising and implementing improvement measures and solutions
• Experience of communicating with a range of audiences.
• Experience of using MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Desirable Criteria

• Minimum of 4 years experience in an operational role.
• Experience in the management and delivery of rail services.
