TWAM Enterprises Ltd is Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums’ independent trading company. It was established in 2018 with the aim of significantly increasing self-generated income through the development of its commercial operations, including retail, e-commerce, catering, venue hire and events.
More than ever, TWAM’s continued success depends upon its ability to generate income, and we are now seeking an additional Assistant Sales & Event Co-ordinator to join our team, working full time on a permanent contract.
As Assistant Sales & Event Co-ordinator, you will be handling the booking process for clients wishing to hire space in our venues. You will establish the client’s need, identify a suitable venue space for their event and then manage the process until the point of handover to our operational team.
You will be enthusiastic about developing a career in event sales with some previous customer service experience. Experience in sales and marketing, client management and negotiation would be an advantage.
Effective communication skills, both written and oral and effective organisational skills are also required and a good level of numeracy is also needed so you can ensure we work to budgets.
We also require someone with the ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of people internally and externally, excellent IT skills and someone with a commitment to equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice.
The job role will be based in the Discovery Museum, Blandford House in Newcastle upon Tyne with some travel required to our other venues.
