The organisation
Our client is a charity supporting children, young people and adult day clients with epilepsy and other complex medical conditions, the severity of which impacts upon their health, social, behaviour, learning and emotional development.
They currently have 8 charity shops across Hertfordshire and Essex. Their shops sell a variety of clothing, bric-a-brac, and books and provide vital income to help support the amazing work they do. This role will be based at Staple Tye, one of two shops they have located in Harlow.
About the role
This role will work closely with the Retail Manager to support with the day to day management and running of the store. Some of the key duties include;
- deputising in the absence of the Retail Manager to ensure their staff and volunteers deliver an excellent service to our customers!
- maximising opportunities to generate shop income to meet and exceed targets.
- manage, control and reconciling of cash takings and stock
- creating attractive displays with donated items whilst ensuring the shop floor adheres to Health and Safety regulations at all times.
This is a great opportunity for someone who has retail experience and is looking to step into a management role, or someone already in a senior position but looking for a new challenge.
They are looking for an organised, creative individual with good working knowledge of pricing donated items, rotating stock and increasing turnover. The successful candidate will also have excellent effective communication skills and a professional approach when liaising with colleagues, volunteers and members of the public.
