We are looking to strengthen our Construction team with an Assistant Site Manager based at Bewl Water.
You will report directly to the Site Manager and your role will be providing assistance to the Site Manager and quality control services to ensure that the contract works are constructed to the specification in an entirely safe manner, whilst maintaining appropriate site records.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Act as site Temporary works Co-ordinator, responsible for the total management of temporary works on site, reviewing design, maintaining temporary works register, carry out temporary works checks with sub-contractor temporary works co-ordinator, issue permits to load and permits to strike.
- Lifting Appointed Person, co-ordinate and approve lift plans for site
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with C.D.M. Regulations and compliance with the Company safe working practices.
- Assist in the preparation of construction programmes, preparation of Method Statements, Action Plans and Risk Assessments.
- Checking the sub-contractors setting out of the works.
- Checking site work to ensure compliance with the specification and drawings.
- Agreement of site measurements and records with the client’s staff.
- Assist in maintaining drawing files, drawing register and site filling system.
- Liaise with the design department to ensure updated information is always used.
- Taking off quantities from drawings for measurement purposes and to assist in the preparation of requisitions.
- Assist in the preparation of the construction completion documentation.
- Ensure that the works are constructed to a good quality in line with the specification and good working practice.
- Ensure that the required quality records are maintained.
Witness inspections on site inc. pre pour inspections, pre load inspections quality checks.
Mentor site apprentice
Provide technical support to Site Foreman and Site Manager
Design co-ordination between temporary and permanent works designers and site team
Facilitate design to construction handover briefings.
Technical review of RAMS and ITPs
- In conjunction with other site staff ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with current legislation, the company health & safety policy, procedures and safe working practices
- Mentor site apprentice
- Ensure good, honest and open lines of communication are established
- It is vitally important that Assistant Site Managers lead by example in terms of safety behaviours.
