The Employment Tax Team is part of Group Tax and is responsible for handling the Employee Tax risk of Lloyds Banking Group as a whole. This role involves working as part of a team and would provide insightful, high quality technical output, advice and mentorship tailored to senior partner needs, operating as a Tax specialist.
Day to day you'll be;
- Providing technical support and assistance to the Employment Tax Team and business, using own judgment as to when more complex queries require escalation.
- Handling relationships with important internal customers and act as their business partner, while taking mentorship from their senior peer group.
- Monitoring and supporting current compliance processes, systems, and procedures within assigned unit and/or subject area. Identifies shortcomings, suggests improvements, and implements approved revisions.
- Assisting with research work and information gathering to deal with internal Employment Tax compliance queries and enquiries from HM Revenue and Customs. Responding to routine correspondence
- Providing technical and analytical assistance in the preparation of underlying information for the more complex calculations ensuring that a full audit trail is available.
- Delivering own small-scale projects or well-defined tasks on larger projects by working within an established program management plan.
- Providing accurate and comprehensive basic Employment Tax compliance advice to business areas.
- Managing the submission of PAYE Settlement Agreement

What you'll need
- Previous experience in assisting with the development and/or delivery with insightful observations for significant aspects of the tax systems with mentorship from senior colleagues.
- Providing support in developing and designing content for training courses in specific functional areas to fill gaps in established programs.
- Keeping abreast of business and technical developments in Employment Tax and helping with the implementation and communication of changes.
- Requires excellent PC skills using all standard applications and detailed knowledge of key bespoke LBG accounting systems as they relate to areas of specialism.
- Excellent oral and written skills with an ability to communicate and influence at all levels.
- Assisting with PAYE and NIC or other tax compliance activities.
