SalaryGreat in-house opportunity for a corporate tax professional. Based in Malton in North Yorkshire this role would suit someone who is looking for a first in-house move from practice. You will need UK corporate tax experience. Day to day the role involves:
* Assist in the preparation and review of tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws and regulations.
PAssist the tax team in tax planning and strategy development to optimise the company’s tax position.
* Help manage and coordinate tax audits and inquiries from various taxation authorities.
* Conduct research on complex tax issues and provide recommendations to mitigate tax risks.
*Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and tax provision calculations.
*Monitor legislative changes in tax laws that could impact the company and advise on necessary adjustments to practices and policies.
*Assist in the development and implementation of tax policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of tax function.
* Provide support in tax-related projects, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, and other strategic initiatives.
* Educate and advise internal stakeholders on tax matters, ensuring tax compliance in business operations.
* Prepare and deliver reports and presentations to management on tax issues and strategies.
Skills & Experience Required:
Ideally a relevant tax or accounting qualification e.g. CTA, ACA, ICAS, ACCA, ATT.
2-4 years of experience in a tax role, preferably in a corporate or public accounting setting.
Strong understanding of tax compliance and reporting, with a good grasp of both domestic and international tax principles.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
