Marks Sattin are delighted to be working with an international manufacturing business to recruit an Assistant Tax Manager.
Working closely with the Group Tax Manager and Indirect Tax Manager, the Assistant Tax Manager will assist in managing the Groups tax reporting, compliance, planning, and strategy. This role is perfect for someone with a strong foundation in tax principles who is looking to grow their skills In House and take the next step in their career.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and review of tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws and regulations.
- Assist the tax team in tax planning and strategy development to optimize the company's tax position.
- Help manage and coordinate tax audits and inquiries from various taxation authorities.
- Conduct research on complex tax issues and provide recommendations to mitigate tax risks.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and tax provision calculations.
- Monitor legislative changes in tax laws that could impact the company and advise on necessary adjustments to practices and policies.
- Assist in the development and implementation of tax policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of tax function.
- Provide support in tax-related projects, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, and other strategic initiatives.
- Educate and advise internal stakeholders on tax matters, ensuring tax compliance in business operations.
- Prepare and deliver reports and presentations to management on tax issues and strategies.
The ideal candidate will be qualified or working towards a relevant qualification such as ACA/ACCA/ATT/CTA or equivalent, and have at least 2 years experience in a tax focused role, either in accountacy practice or industry. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, as well as a strong eye for detail are essential. It is also important to have good interpersonal and communication skills to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
