Assistant Trials Officer

As the Assistant Trials Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the senior Trials Officer, contributing to the management and assessment of agricultural and horticultural trials. This opportunity is home-based within a 20-mile radius of Salisbury, offering a unique blend of flexibility and hands-on fieldwork. You'll have access to a supportive work environment and the tools necessary for success. A work vehicle is available for your use and the business will equip you with a laptop, phone, and iPad, ensuring you have the resources needed to excel in your role. Additionally, you'll receive comprehensive training, including funding for relevant courses, to further enhance your skills in this field.

You role as the Assistant Trials Officer

You'll work side by side with the experienced team and head office staff, assisting in various aspects of trials management. From identifying optimal trial sites to executing precise marking, spraying, and harvesting techniques, your contribution will be crucial. As an Assistant Trials Officer, you'll engage in assessing trial outcomes and compiling comprehensive reports, utilising your attention to detail and analytical skills.

Ideally, you'll have the following skills/knowledge/experience.

• Some previous experience in conducting trials or laborotory testing procedures.
• Proficient in experimental design, statistics and report writing.
• Have good practical horticultural or similar skills.
• Be organised, methodical, able to work on own initiative with good written and verbal communication skills.
