Assistant Underwriter /Structured credit and Political Risk

Mission

  • To support underwriters with and carry out the underwriting of credit and political risks, submitted by brokers and clients.
  • To support the team in achieving commercial targets.
  • Support the Underwriting team including country, sector, and financial research and analysis and review of client/deal specific information.
  • To make sure that the operations underwritten are compliant with Group rules and underwriting policy.
  • To build and maintain excellent long-term broker and client relationships, with a high quality of service.

Experience

  • Knowledge of or experience in insurance and/or financial services is a plus.
  • Insurance relevant training preferred

  • Self-starter with willingness to learn and take on responsibility
  • A high level of numeracy and literacy skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Technical skills, including systems and using mathematics when required
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with customers
  • Competency in relevant software including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Level 5 GCSE pass in English and Maths 
  • Degree in Economics, Mathematics, Business, Finance or equivalent preferred
