Working as part of the Digital Infrastructure team in the UK Infrastructure Group you will work on the production and management of drawings, BIM models and technical reports for large multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects in the UK and across the world.

Your next role:

Key Duties:
- Managing the delivery of BIM models and CAD documentation of designs, as well as compiling BIM Execution Plans.
- Support the digital infrastructure design and masterplanning, from concept stage through to construction.
- Support the preparing technical reports, specification and schedules.
- Contributing to the planning of team workload.
- Mentor and assist more junior Technicians.
- Evaluation of design software and comparison with other solutions in the market to obtain best possible commercial outcome.Current software packages include Ekahau and Comsof, but could be expanded to include cellular planning tools. Close integration with open source packages such as QGIS required.
- Take responsibility of automated fibre optic network design tool utilising GIS related design tool. Responsible for the quality of all design drawings, schedules and appendices (from a quality perspective) of all design submittals developed by Buro Happold’s Digital Infrastructure team. This includes quality check and training the team as to formal submittal procedures via electronic submittal portals such as Aconex.
- Responsible for developing GIS standards for the digital infrastructure team in line with wider company policy.
Your Skills and Experience:
- A technical background in digital infrastructure design, with experience in automated fibre optic network design essential.
- Proficiency in using AutoCAD and GIS.
- Demonstrable working knowledge of BIM processes and standards such as PAS1192-2.
- An ability to undertake design tasks with minimal supervision, good communication skills, and willingness to interact will all members of the team.
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD.
- A technical member of a relevant institution or actively working towards professional registration status.
