Net Zero Carbon Architecture - Associate Director (Consult)

Our multidisciplinary Net Zero Carbon design team is part of Mace’s consultancy technical services. Our design team includes architects, engineers, energy auditors and energy modellers. We deliver projects nationally for both public and private sectors including government departments, local authorities and private developers.

Mace is recruiting qualified architects, architectural technologists, engineers, sustainability consultants, and energy modellers to join the net zero carbon team within consultancy technical services. Typically, this role will be based in our London office with site and client visits and two days per week working from home.
The main projects are retrofits, extensions, remodels with project values between £100k and £100m for clients including the local authorities. Our design team develop residential and mixed-use projects, too.
Your responsibilities will include:
- CRM + BD of NZC Architecture/ Interiors (including definition of new service functions/ offerings)
- Work winning (Lead creation/ management; Bidding) to grow Mace net zero carbon retrofit/ new build services through bid support, and external Mace profile raising.
- NZC Architecture/ Interiors team building (including governance, training, strategic direction)
- Leading the delivery of all aspects of retrofit/ new build (assessments, strategy definition, report writing, design, and monitoring) including compliance with PAS 2035/PAS2038.
- Leading the delivery of low carbon sustainability strategies, for major property portfolios.
- Conducting Life Cycle Carbon Assessments (for Arch/ Interiors) following RICS methodology as well as carrying out design optimization.
- Structuring workload and deliverables of your projects as well as supporting the team in their project delivery.
- Quarterly Business Reporting
- Representing Mace at relevant forums and working groups, and client presentations.
- Championing sustainability and being a leader, encourage behavioural change throughout the business.
- Innovating and championing best practice, clearly communicating benefits/results to colleagues and clients.
