About the team

Now is a hugely exciting time to join Ofqual's Digital, Data and Technology, (DDAT), team. We're transforming the way that we deliver our digital and data services by placing the right emphasis on Product Delivery using User Centred Design principles.

We put our user needs first, and by working with ourtalented product owners, user researchers and interaction designers who use techniques to create and synthesise insights from multiple sources, you'll make informed decisions to deliver business value, failing fast, iterating, and continuously improving our services so that they meet - and exceed - todays, and the future needs of all our users.

What will the post holder be doing?

You will play a key part in Ofqual's Information Management team, providing technical leadership for our cloud-native solutions ensuring we're making the right technology choices to give us resilience and sustainability and to deliver what users need.

You will work with our respective Digital, Data, Infrastructure and Security leads to architect our range of solutions in a way that gives us a secure and straightforward technology estate.

You'll regularly collaborate with senior stakeholders to promote digital change and you'll be proactive in identifying problems and solutions, and translating these into non-technical descriptions that can be widely understood.

You'll contribute to our Digital and Data strategy to enable and underpin Ofqual's growth with positive impact on our user base and the public who use ourtechnology.

As a leader within the team you will mentor and coach more junior colleagues so our focus on succession planning and talent management remains true

Duties and responsibilities to include, but is not limited to:

Full grounding in the take-up and use of SaaS, PaaS, IaaS and how these
technologies may be used to build cloud-native solutions for Regulation
Specialist knowledge of the Microsoft Azure stack relating to software
development, data management methodologies, DevOps and design patterns
Proficient and hands on experience in architecting, designing and managing
continuous delivery system and methodologies in Azure
Ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical, mediate between people and communicate with stakeholders at all levels
Able to provide strategic advice and consultancy to our DDaT function working with our multi-disciplinary teams and suppliers
