We are seeking an experienced and intellectually curious person to work in the role of Associate Director, Strats, CMB Financial Resource Management.
In this role you will utilise the analytics necessary for understanding the business impact of regulatory changes with a key focus on the Basel 3.1 modifications to capital calculation. Your expertise will be integral in order to prepare the business for the impact of these changes, driving business strategy to incorporate these impacts, and business line optimisation for Risk Weighted Assets and capital allocation. This is a key role for the Wholesale business and you will be required to interact with a variety of senior stakeholders, getting exposure to every aspect of the commercial business while making a significant impact at the highest level of decision making.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Understanding the Basel 3.1 regulation and how this will impact HSBC’s businesses
• Translating Basel 3.1 requirements into data flows and code
• Using data analysis to build tools that allow complex analysis of the impacts of these changes
• Working with the business to construct business growth strategies to optimise for return on capital in the coming environment
• Partnering with client facing teams and functions to drive the design of capital & resource efficient products ensuring the tooling is available to monitor the performance of those products
• Leading efforts to drive culture change across the organisation to embed quantitative tooling into increasingly automated processes in asset classes that are becoming technology driven in the marketplace
• Actively participating in and leading cross-functional working groups & steering committees
