JOB TITLE:Associate Director - Transport, Infrastructure Energy Industrials (‘IEI’), Corporate & Institutional Coverage (‘CIC’)
LOCATION: London
HOURS:Full Time
WORKING PATTERN:Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.
About this opportunity
CIC is the client coverage business within Commercial and Institutional Banking ('CIB') operating across the UK and North America and looks after the overall management of businesses whose annual turnover exceeds £100m. CIC consists of many different sector Teams including IEI and the Transport Team sits within this business area.
The position will be to work as part of the Passenger Transport & Logistics team. We're currently seeking a highly motivated individual, who has a keen interest in helping to drive Energy Transition while originating and delivering market leading financing opportunities.
Your accountabilities will include:
  • Relationship Management - Working closely with clients and colleagues to originate, structure and execute products across Capital Markets, Financial Markets, Transaction Banking Solutions and Vehicles and Pensions.
  • Portfolio Management - Assist in developing and handling a portfolio of clients and immersing yourself in sector developments.
  • Structuring and Execution - Support the identification, coordination, negotiation, and the delivery of tailored solutions whilst meeting credit, process, and return requirements.
  • Stakeholder Management - Support the building and management of internal partner relationships, and engagement with external parties. You can expect to work closely with teams across Lloyds including Credit, Infrastructure & Project Finance, Asset Finance and the ESG team.
  • Line Management - Management of the team’s Associates, Graduates, and Interns in the tasks crucial to support Transport coverage team, providing them with mentorship in day-to-day activities as well their development.

What we need from you:
  • Experience in corporate markets and its products, with previous structured finance experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a track record building client relationship and managing multiple partner relationships.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • An interest in supporting the line management and development of junior colleagues.

And any experience of these would be desirable:
  • Passenger Transport sector knowledge and a strong desire to learn about the sector and the ‘sub sectors’ within it.
  • An understanding of Asset Finance and Infrastructure Finance.
  • Previous experience helping to drive Energy Transition

This role is considered Certified under the Senior Manager and Certification Regime as either requiring mandatory qualifications or being deemed as a role capable of providing ‘significant harm’ to customers. Due to this, successful candidates will be subject to enhanced levels of vetting, and required to complete a fitness and propriety attestation on commencement in role. Colleagues performing this role will be required to be complete a fitness and propriety attestation on an annual basis and will also be subject to additional routine criminal and credit checks

If you manage certified colleagues this role will be identified as Manager of certification employees under SYSC 27.8.13R as defined in the FCA Handbook(1) The function of managing or supervising a certification employee, directly or indirectly, is an FCA-specified significant-harm function.(2) A function in (1) is not an FCA certification function for that firm if it is performed by an SMF manager of that firm.
