Your new company
A market leading multi-disciplinary consultancy who specialise in Architecture, Arboriculture, Ecology and Urban Design across the UK. Their main body of work spans residential, renewable energy and commercial developments.
They are developing and overhauling their fast growing Ecology and biodiversity team, evidenced by recent delivery of some of the largest solar / battery storage schemes in the UK. They aim to maintain high performance delivery of complex projects in the energy, residential and infrastructure sectors.
Your new role
You work closely with the National Director of Ecology to grow a new ecology and biodiversity team in the London office and manage a successful ecology business at a local level (South East region).
You will be supported by the Associate Director of ecology and will be an ambassador for the company, undertaking business development through building upon existing client relationships and actively seeking opportunities for future business.
Key duties would include...

  • Build and lead a successful ecology and biodiversity team based in the South East region
  • Demonstrates effective management and the ability to influence and persuade across a range of stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Contribute to the career development of the team via day to day line management of the London team
  • Effectively delegate the team to ensure project success.
  • Provide support on line management, coaching, mentoring, training, wellbeing and performance management.
  • Building relationships with new and existing clients, including managing expectations via effective communication
  • Building relationships with new and existing colleagues
  • To provide technical input into projects (Leading on projects in your specialist field)
  • Makes decisions at a tactical level to improve and perform outstanding results in the regional plans of the Business


What you\'ll need to succeed

  • Ability to work in fast growing and multi-disciplinary team
  • 10+ years of relevant ecology experience.
  • Membership in CIEEM / CEcol / CEnv preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong report writing skills (to review / give feedback to colleagues)
  • Knowledge of relevant environmental legislation / policy
  • Experience with managing a team including delegation (ideal)
